Happy 2023!
Bidfood employees come together to bring a little Christmas magic to those in need
It is difficult to remain insensitive to the current situation and to the major impact of the crisis on the families most in need. Although Bidfood has been supporting the Food Banks for some time with daily deliveries of consumables that are no longer for sale, the company decided to give all employees of all branches the opportunity to put together end-of-year food packages for people in need.
“The Belgian Food Banks welcome the donation of Bidfood with great pleasure. In these difficult times, when we are confronted with an unprecedented demand for food aid, we can only applaud the great initiative. We would therefore like to sincerely thank the Bidfood management and employees for this genuine social commitment”.
Jozef Mottar – Managing director of the Belgian federation of food banks
Without hesitation, all 6 Bidfood delivery locations responded positively to the call. This initiative was designed to bring staff together around a social cause. A total of 100 employees throughout Belgium responded in the week of 12 to 16 December. Speculaas, candies, chocolate drinks, biscuits, waffles, jams, etc. made up more than 1500 food packages, which are intended to supplement the basic offerings handed out by the Food Banks to bring a little party magic to those who need it most.
Foster Fast Food, contributed with over 120 packages made! The smiles, enthusiasm and good humor of the volunteers during the preparation of the packages emphasize the benevolence and willingness of the employees to support this cause, which is close to Bidfood's heart.
The products have been collected by Bidfood with the help of suppliers (Lotus, Mondelez, Lay's, Haribo, Ranobo, Alpro) and from its own brand stock. This was delivered to the Food Bank of Antwerp to distribute during the holidays.
The needs are great and we hope that every initiative, even small, can bring a little comfort to those who need it most.
After all, Christmas is for everyone.
